Since its inception in 2014, The Henry Hudson Tri-District Education Foundation (HHTDEF) has awarded over $70,000 in funding to Atlantic Highlands Elementary School, Highlands Elementary School and Henry Hudson Regional School.

HHTDEF’s mission is to provide funding to support innovations in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) programs in addition to supporting athletics in all Tri-District schools.  Funds are raised through many different event throughout the year and are distributed through an RFP process.  Many of our schools’ innovative programs would not be possible without their support.

Some of the projects that the foundation has funded either fully or partially for the elementary schools during the fall and winter grant cycles include Odyssey of the Mind teams, Chromebooks for the 5th grade, standing desks in 3rd grade, STEAM tables and kits in Kindergarten, a flexible seating student centered classroom, and a monarch waystation in the school garden at AHES, a STEAM center for kindergarten and an Archery in the Schools program, a mobile STEAM museum, and smart boards at HES,

In addition, the Foundation also fully or partially funded an art trip to the Guggenheim Museum, an advanced 3D printer, the Odyssey of the Mind team, as well as outfitted the Maker Space lab and provided funding for competitions in robotics, Teen Arts and more at HHRS.

The HHTDEF Board is made up of President Corinna Thuss, Vice President Karen Britton, Secretary Heidi Hackett and Treasurer Linda Frasciello.  The Foundation includes members from the communities of Highlands and Atlantic Highlands.
